Delivery tracking and location sharing

Vanguard dispatch records the customer contact, delivery address and instructions supplied for a delivery, along with its assigned driver and progress. Customer and driver links are private, limited to one delivery and expire after seven days. Keep them confidential: anyone holding a link can use that link's permitted tracking or delivery actions.

Location sharing starts only when you choose “Share my location” and grant browser permission. It operates while the tracking page is open and visible; you can stop at any time. The customer, assigned driver and Vanguard dispatch can view the shared location and its reported accuracy. GPS accuracy varies. Points older than 60 seconds or with poor accuracy are not displayed. We store the latest shared point, not a movement history. Stop, link replacement and delivery closure clear the relevant stored location; expiry alone hides an old point without deleting it.

Delivery records are hosted on Cloudflare. Maps are rendered with MapLibre GL using Geoapify vector tiles and OpenMapTiles/OpenStreetMap data. Map tile and image requests reveal the map area being viewed to Geoapify, but do not include names, phone numbers or private access links. When both parties are sharing fresh, reliable locations, their precise driver and customer coordinates are sent to Mapbox to calculate a road route and directions. These routing requests do not include customer names, phone numbers, delivery references or private access links. These are road previews; choosing Start Navigation sends only the two shared route coordinates through Vanguard's server to Geoapify for driver navigation. This does not alter the accepted fare. Navigation geometry is held briefly in private server memory and page memory, not stored as a movement history. Spoken instructions use your browser's speech service; it may use a device or remote English voice. Browser GPS and speech may pause when the page is hidden or the phone locks. Choosing external navigation passes the destination to Google Maps or Apple Maps, which may choose a different route. Delivery fare quotes — 10 October 2026

For automatic delivery pricing, choosing “Share my location” also allows your freshly shared coordinates to be used with the assigned driver's freshly shared coordinates to calculate your delivery fare. Once both parties share fresh, reliable locations, the driver and customer route coordinates are sent from Vanguard's server to Geoapify to calculate road distance and driving time. Fare calculation waits if either location is unavailable, stale or imprecise. Requests are limited; routine GPS updates and page refreshes do not each trigger a new routing request. For a configured fixed pickup, the pickup coordinates or address and the customer's delivery coordinates may be used to locate the pickup and route. These fare requests do not include your name, phone number or private delivery URL. Review the quoted fare before accepting it; acceptance is never automatic. The driver-origin and destination snapshots used for pricing, the price breakdown and your acceptance are stored as private delivery fare and audit records on Cloudflare. They are separate from live tracking points: stopping sharing or closing a delivery clears live points but does not erase an accepted fare record. An accepted fare stays fixed as the driver moves. Earlier accepted quotes keep their original route-provider record and agreed price; switching the provider for new requests does not relabel or recalculate those historical records. Geoapify processes routing request data and technical details, including request headers, IP address and timestamp, for access control, usage counting and troubleshooting. Its privacy policy states that successful API request data is generally retained for no longer than 24 hours. This is Geoapify's request-data policy, not a promise that Vanguard deletes an accepted delivery fare or audit record after 24 hours.

9.1Vanguard Freight & Logistics collects customer personal information (name, contact number, address, email) solely for the purpose of processing shipments and providing customer service.
9.2Customer information will not be sold or rented. It may be shared only where required by Jamaican law or with service providers needed to complete a shipment, deliver a customer-requested communication, or provide customer support.
9.3Customers may request access to or deletion of their personal data by contacting info@vanguardja.com.
9.4Vanguard Freight & Logistics takes reasonable steps to protect customer data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
9.5When a visitor voluntarily requests Vanguard Essentials updates, Vanguard Freight & Logistics uses the submitted email address to send the requested launch, product, availability, and ordering information. This does not create a customer account.
9.6The Vanguard Essentials notification form uses Resend as an email-delivery service provider to send the request to the Vanguard team. Service providers receive information only as needed to perform services on Vanguard’s behalf.
9.7Recipients may unsubscribe from Vanguard Essentials updates at any time or request deletion of their submitted email address by contacting info@vanguardja.com.
